Swim Class Levels

These are guide lines to the techniques being taught. Because all of our classes are specialized to each student's needs, any of these skills maybe taught in various different combinations. Level certificates are awarded to the students based on the skills achieved within each of these levels.

Into the Swim - Level 1/2

Level 1/2:

  1. Enter Comfortably in the Water
  2. Blow Bubbles with Nose and Mouth
  3. Put Face in the Water
  4. Introduction to Back Floats
  5. Introduction to Jumping in the Water
  6. Introduction to Kicking on the Wall and with a Kickboard/Barbell
  7. Introduction to Scooping while Held and with a Kickboard/Barbell
  8. Introduction to Pushing off the Wall with Glide and Kick
Into the Swim - Level 3/4

Level 3/4:

  1. Push off the Wall with Glide and Kick
  2. Back Float
  3. Introduction to the Front Crawl
  4. Introduction to Side Breathing
  5. Introduction to the Backstroke
  6. Introduction to the Breaststroke Kick and Arms Individually
  7. Bob Up and Down In and Under the Water
Into the Swim - Level 5/6

Level 5/6:

  1. Front Crawl with Side-Breathing — Basics
  2. Backstroke — Basics
  3. Deep Water Preparation
  4. Swimming Underwater/ Bobbing for Rings
  5. Breaststroke — Basics
  6. Introduction to the Butterfly
Into the Swim - Level 7/8

Level 7/8:

  1. Passed the Survival Stroke/Float Test
  2. Front Crawl with Side-Breathing — Intermediate
  3. Backstroke — Intermediate
  4. Breaststroke — Intermediate
  5. Butterfly — Basics
  6. Introduction to Sidestroke
Into the Swim - Level 9/10

Level 9/10:

  1. Front Crawl with Alternate Side-Breathing — Coordinated
  2. Backstroke — Coordinated
  3. Breaststroke — Coordinated
  4. Butterfly — Intermediate
  5. Introduction to Flip and Side Turns
  6. Swimming Distances of 50 — 100 yards
  7. Sidestroke — Basics
Into the Swim - Level 11/12

Level 11/12:

  1. Front Crawl with Alternate Breathing — Advanced
  2. Backstroke — Advanced
  3. Breaststroke — Advanced
  4. Butterfly — Advanced
  5. Incorporate Flip and Side Turns while Swimming Distances of 100yards or more
  6. Swim Team Basics such as the Individual Medley and Various Relays
